November Coffeehouse with Cheshire Moon!

Join us on November 8th at 7:30 for the Peoples Church Second Friday Coffeehouse, featuring Cheshire Moon!

Cheshire Moon is the fanciful collaboration of trickster bird Lizzie Crowe and crazed magician Eric Coleman. What began as a simple joining of two talents in song circles, and occasionally during the mad-hatter antics of Eric Coleman on stage, whipped and frothed into the most likely of pairs. Eric’s love of punk, folk and prog rock gives them an eerie, otherworldly sound, while Lizzie brings the voice of that otherworld to life in voice and verse. Together they weave song and story, breathing new life into old myths, new faces onto old gods, and finally telling the princess’s side of the faerie tale.

Find Molly’s Café at the Preston Bradley Center on floor 3 1/2 (take the elevator to the third floor and walk up half a flight). Admission is always free, and coffee and homemade lemon squares are available for purchase. All are welcome!

October Coffeehouse with Karen Salmon

Join us on Friday, October 11th at 7:30pm for the Peoples Church Second Friday Coffeehouse!

Karen Salmon performs originals and covers regularly as a solo artist and with the band Things That Fly. Married and the mother of four, Karen has been called “desperate” and “distracted” in her exploration of what it means to write songs in her 40’s. Since she first picked up a guitar a decade ago, she finds herself writing in the bathroom or minivan in order to have any hope of completing a song. (She is also honing her ability to write in her sleep.) Salmon’s music is alternatively playful and stark—and has clear undertones of overcooked meat and unfolded laundry. Karen wakes up to Led Zeppelin, goes to sleep to Ella Fitzgerald and dreams about Loretta Lynn.

The Coffeehouse takes place at Molly’s Cafe on floor 3 1/2 (take the elevator to the third floor and walk up half a flight). Admission is always free, and coffee and homemade lemon squares are available for purchase. All are welcome!
